Project I.G.I. is a tactical first-person action-shooter video game wherein you play as a hidden agent tasked with retrieving knowledge about a hijacked nuclear warhead. Generated by Innerloop Studios and announced by Eidos Interactive back in 2000, this game is also recognized as Project I.G.I.: I’m Going In and highlighted stealth missions reminiscent of the Metal Gear Solid series. It produced a sequel titled I.G.I.-2: Covert Strike. Project I.G.I. obeys Agent Jones’s story, who has been tasked with arresting Josef Priboi for a report about a lost nuclear warhead. You play through mission levels of various locations to complete aims to get closer to Priboi’s current whereabouts. These will open once you complete the former mission. Accompanying Jones via earpiece is Anya, who gives him his goals by pointing out areas of interest. You start with four weapons: a combat knife and three modified guns. You also have binoculars and a map that includes your progress log and goals. To get more things like ammo, grenades, and medkits, you need to search the current location—but guns and their ammo can be looted off eliminated enemies as they won’t despawn. Thus, it pays to be gentle and eliminate all hostile NPCs to keep yourself well-stock.
This game is one of the first computer games featuring tactical shooting. Games also have excellent sounds and graphics. The story was good. The weapons of this game are impressive, specifically Dragunov, Desert Eagle, Jack Hammer, etc.
But due to the lack of a mid-game save option, people may find difficulty in completing all levels.
